Taking Vitamins to Improve Health & Wellbeing:

Are Supplemental Vitamins and Nutrients Really Necessary for Us?

Vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and other life-enhancing constituents are all wonderfully healthy for us; there's no doubt about that. However, these should all come directly from the foods that we eat. If we are choosing the proper foods to eat, and preparing those foods in the proper manners, then we should have no need for supplementation.

Nutritional supplementation is a multi-billion dollar market annually. And so is fast food. The point is that there are billions of people around the planet that do benefit from supplements, but they do so unnecessarily in the vast majority of cases. The money and time that they spend on nutritional supplements would be far better directed at purchasing and preparing the proper foods instead.

You see, natural food sources like vegetables, beans, fruits, herbs and other plants contain all of the nutrients that we need in order to thrive. The problem is that the average human diet is severely lacking in these types of foods. The culprit comes in many forms including:

  • Fast foods;

  • Overcooked foods;

  • Prepared, processed and preserved foods;

  • Microwave foods;

  • Bleached foods;

  • High fat foods;

  • High sodium foods;

  • Low-potassium foods;

  • Steroid, pesticide and herbicide-laden foods;

  • and many more common in the average human diet...

These poor food sources have no real nutritional value. Therefore, an argument can be made that there is great benefit to nutritional supplementation. However, by choosing the foods that nature provides, those foods that are rich in water, vitamins and other life-sustaining nutrients, we eliminate the need for supplementation. Just consider the word “supplement”. It means “in addition to”. If we ensure that we are eating a well-balanced diet, then there is no need to add anything to it at all. That's what “well-balanced” means!

Our planet is a small one these days. One can easily go online and order just about anything from anywhere. Exotic, organic, natural foods are available to anyone in most countries. Those in impoverished third-world countries may very well benefit from nutritional supplements. They have very little food variance and may well be lacking in many areas of human nutrition. However, for the rest of the planet, attention should be directed towards choosing and consuming a wide variety of the foods available.

Avoiding unhealthy food sources and concentrating on water-rich foods, untainted from modern chemical processing, is the key to eliminating the need for nutritional supplements. Ensure your vitality with a versatile selection of nutrient-packed foods beginning today. Your body will soon begin to thrive in every way. That's really all you need.
